SPAR China Ya'an Disater Relief Efforts
A large earthquake that’s hit southwest China and the China Earthquake Networks Center says a magnitude 7.0-tremor depth 13 kilometers hit Lushan county in Ya’an city in Sichuan province early Saturday 8:02am April 20. 99% houses are collapsed, water and power supply were all cut off in hospitals and health centers. Up to now, 37 magnitude 3.5-tremor aftershocks, the maximum aftershock ranged up to magnitude 5.1. In total, about 1.5 million people have been affected by the quake. By now, at least 188 people have been killed. 

When disaster struck, help came from all sides. Disaster relief has been collected from all walks of life following the earthquake. SPAR Guangdong attaches highly importance to the social responsibility and unites efforts against earthquake. On April 23rd , 83% discount membership special day, each transaction in store will donate 1 yuan with a recognized charity for the disaster relief fund. 

A comment from SPAR China Managing Director Tobias that it would be appropriate for all SPAR partners to set up collection boxes with a recognized charity such as the China Red Cross for the disaster relief fund.
