On Wednesday 26th October, the new 2-year MBO4 training unique to SPAR retailers began in Epe. The training is part of the SPAR Academy and is unique in that each individual retailer's store forms the basis of the training. The training sessions will in part be held either in or nearby the retailer's premises.
Sjaak Penning, responsible for the SPAR Academy, welcomed the first retailers to the training. 39 SPAR retailers have joined up for the intensive 2-year programme. Sjaak Penning said "the SPAR retailer training has been designed as an improvement programme. The focus is on enabling the retailer to make changes to his store throughout the training period. The programme is aimed at facilitating the achievement of targets which have been set, such as an increase in the turnover of the store and the improvement of internal processes."
SPAR is currently conducting a campaign to recruit enthusiastic new retailers. "By offering training through the SPAR Academy, we demonstrate the importance that we place on the ongoing development of both SPAR retailers and their personnel. In the current market, the opportunities of the SPAR Academy may contribute to the decision potential new retailers make to join SPAR for," said Mr Penning.
The SPAR Academy, working in partnership with ROC Leiden and RetailMinds, has on offer programmes which are specifically designed for SPAR retailers, with the individual retail environment and supermarket as the starting point. The theory provided in the programmes is primarily available online in an e-learning environment, which is then supported by practical training onsite and meetings which are either theme or motivational based, on a national basis.
